Sunday 26th August
The FoRP Café opened at 10am, by 1pm, we had served 61 people with breakfast.
At 3pm, our local churches joined us to give thanks for the park’s redevelopment, we scattered wild flower bombs on one of the flower beds in the kitchen garden
Monday 27th August
Café opened again for Breakfast, in the morning we had Taster Bootcamp Sessions for Adults (age 14+) and Kids – the weather was dreadful but people arrived and were so brave on Bootcamp, most signing up for onward Bootcamps
Tuesday 28th August
Café opened, Breakfast and Lunch !
Children aged 5-8 years commenced their 2 day photography course, Flutter Shutter and in the afternoon we have our partners from The Civic Arts Centre providing Kids Fun … over 100 children enjoyed the fun and games.
The evening brought a Watercolours Taster Session.
Wednesday 29th August
Flutter Shutter continued, we had more kids fun – the café was busy with breakfast and lunches.
In the evening, we had Yoga Taster Sessions – originally one was planned but we ended up with 3 and 30 people trying out Yoga and signing up for regular sessions
Thursday 30th August
Kids photography moved to Big Bugs, age 9-11 years. Battlefield Live was really popular with the children, attracting over 100 children – which meant the café was not busy, it was extremely busy ! In the evening, more yoga and Camera Club Taster session.
Friday 31st August
The Big Bugs finished their course whilst children with additional needs enjoyed Sports Club and Sensory Play.
The café now had regulars including many dogs who would not pass as they had learnt there was always a treat inside the café for them
Saturday 1st September
The café opened early for the Bootcampers, adults age 14+ and kids.
In the afternoon we had 2 performances of Gruffalo Tales, a free event, 2 performances as the first booked up within a day !
We were delighted to be working again with our partner The Civic Arts Centre.
Sunday 2nd September
Ossy Proms … what can we say ?
•3500 visitors to the park for the launch week
•Over 500 people visited the café
•30 people attend yoga taster sessions
•10 people attend Watercolours Taster
•Over 300 children attended kids activities
•40 Children and Adults attended Bootcamps
•20 Children and adults attend photography groups
•Over 400 people attended Gruffalo Tales
•Over 600 people attended Ossy Proms
•39 dogs visited the cafe
Adults and children came, people with learning difficulties, people with mental health problems, children with additional needs, recently bereaved, babies to elders, all came and all were welcome
Family of 4 sat down for lunch, 2 baked spuds with beans and cheese, a toasted sandwich and a tune mayo sandwich, 4 drinks – bill £9.90
Litter pickers not needed after Ossy Proms, everyone tidied after themselves

•Volunteers coming forward to help develop café
•Our town is buzzing and people want more, they are proud and engaged
•Our Park is not political and all Ossy Councillors have worked together volunteering support
•Developing partnership working between FoRP and The Civic Arts Centre, what a great start
•Our Community Events Programme is busy for the reminder of the year, our focus
